We are Chartered Clinical Psychologists, registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). After studying Psychology as undergraduates, we went on to take professional degrees in Clinical Psychology and additional Psychotherapy trainings. We follow the ethical codes of the HCPC and the British Psychological Society.

I have always been interested in the way we navigate the many challenges life presents, the meaning we make of those experiences and the resources within and outside ourselves that can support us.

I have worked with individuals and couples facing a range of difficulties, both emotional and physical from late teens to later life. I have a special interest in the impact that a health condition, whether chronic or acute, an accident or issues such as pregnancy or infertility or early parenthood, can make on our lives, relationships and sense of self. I am also interested in the impact of other important life events or losses.  But whatever the problem, I enjoy collaborating with the people I work with to discover or reconnect to the understandings, skills and values which bring vitality.

I draw on many years of experience in the NHS as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. I also draw on skills in cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and mindfulness approaches. In the last ten years I have trained in systemic approaches and Narrative Therapy both within my recent NHS trust and with the UK Institute of Narrative Therapy, where I am an Associate Member. This is the approach I use most often, but I also work eclectically, consulting those I work with to use whichever  approaches are most effective for their individual situations.

HENRIK LYNGGAARD, B.Sc. MSc (Clin Psych), MSc (systemic therapy)

I am interested in how a conversational space can be created that open new domains of possibilities in relation to events and experiences that cause people difficulties and hardship.

I am a clinical psychologist and a systemic family therapist and draw on over 20 years experience of working in the NHS and other public services.  I have worked with individual, couples, families and networks of professionals experiencing and reacting to a wide range of dilemmas and difficulties.  In my practice I am committed to creating a space in which predicaments and concerns can be witnessed and explored in a safe and respectful atmosphere and where new possibilities can emerge.

I believe that life is made up of the stories that we tell ourselves and each other. At difficult points in life, it’s possible that we can get stuck in stories that forget or leave out important parts of who we are- our stories of strength and skills, our values and commitments. In my work with clients in the NHS and private practice, I am privileged to be able to witness people’s stories, and to encourage the telling of stories that might have been lost or forgotten in the face of life’s challenges.

I am a clinical psychologist with 7 years post-qualification experience. I specialise in work with people with physical health problems and mental distress, as well as those with learning disabilities.  I have worked with people who are facing a number of difficult life experiences including bereavement, financial hardship, and mental health difficulties, as well as those with chronic physical illness and chronic pain. I work mainly using a narrative therapy approach, as well CBT, systemic, and integrative approaches.

I currently practice from Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
